Important Info
To really enjoy your stay in Brazil.
Visa
There are zero visa requirements for US, UK and EU passport holders (and zero Covid-19 vaccination requirements).
Safety
General safety tips are to not flash iPhones, money, watches or jewellery. Never get into an unknown vehicle (use Uber or Taxis, do not accept drivers from the airport), and prefer safer modes of transport at night (like taking a taxi instead of walking). Only carry with you enough money you will need for the day, and lock up your valuables in the hotel safe. Do not leave your bags or wallets unattended. If visiting cities like Rio, we recommend using an anti theft wallet bag for your valuables, and always hire everything (such as transfers and guided tours) with a trustworthy company.
Weather
July is winter in Brazil, which means temperatures between 12°C (early morning and late evenings) and 26°C (daytime) in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Given the climate (and fewer tourists generally), arguably this is the best time to visit Brazil; if you have the time, we recommend visiting either Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo either before or after our wedding in Brasilia.
Tourism Agency
Wonder Travel. More information on this to follow, but there will be a discount through our wedding planner.
Dengue
At this time of year, dengue is not as common as during summer. However, it is important to apply mosquito repellent regularly outdoors. We recommend this brand, as each application lasts 10h, and they are available in any Brazilian pharmacy. We will have repellent sprays throughout the weekend at the venues, so don't worry about bringing your own then!
